Unfortunately, fresh organic sprouts don’t keep more than 3 days in the fridge and growing them takes time. Food To Live Organic Broccoli Sprout Powder, on the other hand, can be delivered to you within days and will stay fresh, healthy, and nutritious for many months. It’s made of certified organic sprouted seeds, 100% non-GMO, 100% free of any toxins and harmful bacteria. We process them using the best equipment to retain the maximum of the sprouts nutritional value.

Organic Broccoli Sprout Powder Benefits

Organic powder offers the same health benefits as fresh organic sprouts. It provides you with a boost of extremely potent antioxidants, including lutein, zeaxanthin, carotene, and sulforaphane. The latter is currently studied for its carcinogenic properties and scientists have high hopes in finding a way to utilize the healing powers of this element.

Vegans and vegetarians should consume organic sprouted broccoli seed powder because it contains iron and calcium, along with other valuable vitamins and minerals. Bodybuilders can utilize this product to increase the nutritional value of protein shakes.

How to Use Organic Broccoli Sprout Powder in Your Diet

If you are a gardening enthusiast, you can grow and sprout organic broccoli seeds yourself. For this, you’ll have to let your broccoli plants mature and turn yellow. Once they do, the flower heads must be cut and hung to dry for at least 2 weeks. Then, you can crush them with your hands, removing the tiny seeds that look similar to black peppers.

To sprout them in a jar, soak organic broccoli seeds for 12 hours. Then drain and cover the jar with cheesecloth. Rinse and drain every 12 hours (for 3 days) and keep your sprouting jar away from direct sun. Cut the sprouts when they get about 2-3 inches high and develop two small leaves.

Organic Broccoli Sprout Powder from Food To Live has most of the nutrients contained in sprouts and will keep for many months. Use it in smoothies and vegetable juices or sprinkle on salads, stews, and baked goods. Store the powder in an airtight container in the fridge to increase its shelf life and reduce the loss of nutritional value

Frequently Asked Questions

How old sprouts are before they are milled?
The Broccoli sprouts have the option of either 18-24 hours till radical formation or 4 day till cotyledon formation.
Are seeds also milled or only sprouts?
There is a wash process that will remove some seed hulls and dead seed but everything after that point is dried and milled together. The highest germinating seed available on the market are used (usually between 95%-98% germination rate), so there is very little none sprouted seed left.
How sprouts are processed: are they freeze, heat, or sun dried, etc…?
Sprouts are dried with the use of heated air to maintain nutritional profiles.
What is the process to protect the nutrients going from sprouts to powder?
Broccoli Sprout Powder is rapidly dehydrated using drum dried technology. The material is applied to two heated drums for a short period of time before being removed and milled into a fine powder. This short dwell time helps maintain nutrient content while also provide significant micro reduction. Sprouts are notoriously “dirty,” but a combination of hydroponic growing and drum drying yields a very clean, safe product.
What temperature is used for drying? What bacteria’s kill steps are used?
Sprouts are dried between 160-180 degrees Fahrenheit. The bacteria kill step is an organic certified calcium hypochlorite treatment applied to seed before sprouting along with Spent Irrigation water testing to ensure no harmful pathogens are present.
How many fresh sprouts are used to produce 1 lbl of the powder
The dry down ratio is 13:1 on average. This means it takes 13 lbs of sprouts to make 1 lb of sprout powder.
How much sulforaphane glucosinolate mg is in one gram of broccoli sprout powder?
The latest test result showed 0.607% (w/w) of sulforaphane in a 100 g sample of our broccoli powder- meaning- 0.607 g in 100 g of sample, or 0.00607g of sulforaphane in 1 g of powder. But in our company experience, sulforaphane content can be anywhere from 0.5 grams to 1.5 grams per 100 grams of broccoli sprouts powder (depending on the lot).
