  1. Yields approximately 3 Cups (1/2 lb.) of Sprouts. Prep 3 Tablespoons of peas, then transfer into a bowl or into your Sprouter. Add 2-3 times as much cool (60°-70°) water. Mix peas up to assure even water contact for all.
  2. Allow peas to soak for 6-12 hours. Empty the peas into your Sprouter (if necessary). Drain off the soak water. Rinse thoroughly with cool (60°-70°) water. Drain thoroughly! Set your Sprouter anywhere out of direct sunlight and at room temperature (70° is optimal) between Rinses. Ensure sufficient air-circulation is provided.
  3. Always be sure to Drain very thoroughly. The most common cause of inferior sprouts is inadequate drainage. Rinse and Drain again every 8-12 hours for 3 days.

Ingredients for Turmeric Noodle Soup:

  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 2 oz. noodles
  • 3-4 cloves garlic
  • 1 to 1 1/2 inches fresh ginger
  • 2 tsp. turmeric (more to taste)
  • 1 1/3 cups peas
  • 1 cup broccoli
  • 1 cup fresh baby spinach
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional additions: kale, green beans, green onion, etc.

Description

  1. In a large saucepan over high heat, pour vegetable broth and bring to a boil.
  2. Meanwhile, mince garlic and grate ginger.
  3. When broth is boiling, add garlic, ginger, turmeric, peas, broccoli, and noodles. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Return to a light boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in spinach during last minute of cooking.

YUM! makes for tasty sprouts and ALL of the seeds so far have sprouted. I sprout only enough for one person for a few days at a time.
These sprout nicely now that I've learned the right amount to put into my sprouting jar, about half a cup at a time. The first ones turned brown before they sprouted much. I sprout them in a closed cabinet because that's supposed to increase the amount of DAO in them, and I add them to my salads. They taste sweet and crunch. I'm on my second bag of them.
