Brazil nuts are large, nutrient-dense nuts that come from the Brazil nut tree (Bertholletia excelsa). They are native to the Amazon rainforest and are primarily cultivated in Bolivia, Brazil, and Peru. Brazil Nuts by Food to Live are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or other chemicals. They are a versatile and delicious food that can be enjoyed as a snack, produced into Brazil Nut oil, or used in a variety of sweet and savory recipes. Food to Live Brazil Nuts are raw, Non-GMO Verified, Kosher, and Vegan.

Nutritional Value

Brazil nuts are a good source of protein, healthy fats, and minerals such Magnesium, and Zinc. Moreover, Brazil nuts contain a variety of antioxidants, including vitamin E, polyphenols, and selenium. Selenium, in particular, is a powerful antioxidant that is found in high amounts in Brazil nuts and is thought to play a key role in their health benefits. Yes, Brazil nuts are considered to be one of the richest dietary sources of Selenium, and for that reason it is recommended to eat them in moderation (1-3 nuts a day).

Ways to Enjoy

In terms of flavor, Brazil Nuts have a rich, creamy taste that is slightly sweet and nutty. They have a satisfying crunch and are great for snacking on – on their own, or adding to salads, trail mixes, and baked goods. To use Brazil nuts in the kitchen, you can chop them up and add to oatmeal or yogurt for breakfast or use them as a topping for smoothie bowls. They can also be roasted with a little bit of salt and enjoyed as part of your charcuterie board. In baking, they can be used in place of other nuts, such as almonds or walnuts, in recipes for cookies, cakes, and other treats. Vegans are sure to love Brazil Nut cheese, which is rather easy to make. You’ll only need one cup of the nuts, 1⁄4 cup of nutritional yeast, and 1⁄2 teaspoon of garlic salt. Mix all the ingredients in a food processor and then refrigerate. This would be a great vegan alternative to parmesan that you can enjoy with salads, pasta, and sandwiches; a generous pinch of this vegan Brazil Nut cheese is enough of a portion to reap its benefits and enjoy its flavor.

Storage Recommendations

To keep Brazil Nuts bulk fresh, store them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, such as a pantry or cupboard. For long-term storage, they should be kept in the refrigerator. To extend their shelf life, keep in the freezer.

Best brazil nuts I've ever eaten. Brazil nuts were never my favorite in mixed nuts but wanted to add them to my diet. Wow what a difference these nuts are compared to those. They are very mild and super fresh. Love them. I no longer say I'm not a big fan of brazil nuts, because I'm a huge fan of yours! Please don't change them.
from St Nick
Nuttier than a fruitcake! So glad to find Brazil nuts for my fruitcake. They were unavailable in my home town! Arrived in good order and are now in the cake!
from jax
Great! very tasteful. Tastes freshly shelled. Large nuts, bag is very full. Tasteful, rich clean buttery taste not hard not salty, not bland. So much better than canned nuts. So much better than nuts found in locally. Well worth the price which beats out any local price I found. I would buy this again.

Freshness & Taste. Have ordered other brands from Amazon. Always has expiration date up to a year from when I received it. FOOD TO LIVE brand exceeded the TASTE of the other brands I ordered from Amazon. I never knew what Brazil nuts were suppose to taste like til I ordered the Food To Live brand.
from Just Me
Very fresh and arrived with expiration date that was not expired. This is my second bag and I will buy again for sure as buying these local at the typical stores is quite expensive and often hard to locate. No added salt or other junk.
