Organic Black Beans Nutrition Value

Black beans are right for you because they provide your body with a wide range of essential nutrients, such as protein, dietary fiber, iron, magnesium, B vitamins, and potassium. Organic Black Beans are gluten-free, so if you are sensitive to gluten, you can enjoy delicious and safe black bean pasta, flour, noodles, and spaghetti. Black beans are a good source of carbs, giving you about 7.5g of them per serving 1/6 cup (35 g).

Health Benefits of Eating Black Beans

The most essential benefits organic black beans offer are:

  • Improved digestion As they contain lots of dietary fiber, 5.5g per serving 1/6 cup (35 g) the beans help keep your intestine toned.
  • Improved blood sugar control The combination of carbohydrates and fiber is processed steadily and slowly by the body, which means it doesn’t trigger dangerous blood glucose spikes.
  • Protection from oxidation Our organic black beans are rich in antioxidants that protect your body from the damage of free radicals on the cellular level.

How to Sprout Black Beans at Home

  1. Three teaspoons of beans yield approximately 3 Cups (1/2 lb.) of Sprouts. Prep 3 Tablespoons of beans, place them into a bowl or your sprouter. Add 2-3 times as much cool (60°-70°) water. Mix beans up to assure even water contact for all.
  2. Allow beans to soak for 6-12 hours. Empty the beans into your Sprouter (if necessary). Drain off the soak water. Rinse thoroughly with cool (60°-70°) water. Drain thoroughly! Set your Sprouter anywhere out of direct sunlight and at room temperature (70° is optimal) between Rinses. Ensure sufficient air-circulation is a must.
  3. Always be sure to Drain very thoroughly. The most common cause of inferior sprouts is inadequate drainage. Rinse and Drain again every 8-12 hours for 3 days.

Recipes

Ingredients for Cozy Autumn Black Bean Soup:

  • 2 cups dried black beans, soaked and rinsed
  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • One large onion, chopped
  • Two carrots, chopped
  • Three cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ground chili powder
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Two bay leaves
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • for serving: chopped fresh cilantro or parsley and lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Soak the beans in water for 8-12 hours, then drain and rinse them.
  2. In a big soup pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add onions, carrots, and garlic. Cook and stir until the onions turn soft and slightly brown, about 10 min.
  3. Put all the other ingredients into the pot, except the lime and parsley. Stir well to mix everything. Let it come to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium and let it simmer for about 40 min until the beans are soft. Take out the bay leaves.
  4. You can choose to keep the beans whole or make the soup smoother using a hand blender or a regular blender.
  5. Taste the soup and add more salt and pepper if you like. Serve the soup in bowls, and add lime wedges and parsley for garnish. Enjoy!

I’ve bought this these beans a few times now. I am always amazed how quickly we go through 15 pounds of beans!!! The quality is great and the delivery is quick. I keep coming back to this product because it’s simply good and well priced
from LAgirl
The best. These are the most beautiful black beans I'd ever seen! No broken beans, gorgeous deep black color. Much shorter cooking time than the beans I'd gotten at the grocery store and absolutely delicious. Just reordered directly from the company.
I received these beans and was utterly delighted. They look better than any beans I could have purchased in a regular grocery store and far better than any other bulk beans I've bought before. The are plump, well-dried, and a lovely dark shade of black. Since I store my bulk products in smaller containers for ease of access I had the chance to shift through the entire bag and didn't find a single rock or icky bean. Definitely will be purchasing from Food to Live again.
I'm very happy with these beans. They're organic and don't cause me to have abdominal pain like non-organic beans which are drenched in glyphosate just prior to harvest. These beans are organic and I've had no issues with them and am on my second 5 pound bag. I will continue to purchase this product in the future.
Yummy black beans! These are beautiful black beans. They are small and cook up nice and soft. They are also very clean. This is the 2nd time we've ordered and we will continue to buy them. Thank you for providing such a beautiful food product.
