The Grinch’s Favorite: Matcha Crinkle Cookies

Guess who’s crashing our cookie party? It’s the Grinch himself! Get ready to bake up a storm of green goodness with our Matcha Crinkle Cookies – they’re so good, even the Grinch might crack a smile!

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp matcha powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • Powdered sugar for coating
  • Heart-shaped sprinkles

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and matcha powder. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined.
  5. Cover the cookie dough and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  1. Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls.
  2. Roll each ball in powdered sugar until well coated.
  3. Place the coated balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  4. Bake for 10-12 min or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  5. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few min and top each cookie with a heart-shaped sprinkle (It’s a sweet nod to the Grinch’s heart growing three sizes in the classic tale!)
  6.  Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
