Organic Quinoa is an incredibly nutritious grain-like seed. This plant has its origin in South America, where ancient Incans called it “mother grain,” as they believed it could secure a long, healthy life. As it turns out, their beliefs did have a certain foundation: quinoa seeds are an excellent source of protein and essential minerals and vitamins. The distinguishing feature of these seeds is that they contain all the main amino acids.

Health Benefits of Organic Red Quinoa

The main quality of organic Quinoa — as a powerful source of protein and minerals — determines how they benefit a human’s body. These are numerous and significant:

  • Render help with bone and tissue building Quinoa seeds have a protein balance similar to that of meat, fish, and milk, so they are invaluable for those on a vegetarian diet. Besides, they are a rich source of calcium, the mineral that is responsible for bones’ strength, and zinc, a co-factor of many enzymes that regulate the processes of growth and development, sperm generation, and nucleic acid synthesis. Consumption of Quinoa guarantees a beautiful appearance for your skin, hair, and nails.
  • Help cope with a severe headache Due to the high content of riboflavin and magnesium, you can eat organic Quinoa to get rid of migraine headaches. Riboflavin improves the transportation of oxygen to the brain cells and magnesium provides relaxation of the blood vessels that lead to the brain.
  • Quinoa seeds contain several substances — many with antioxidant qualities. Manganese prevents cells’ mitochondria from being damaged during energy production. Together with vitamins A, B1, B2, E, and the mineral selenium, remove free radicals from the body, thus protecting it against cancer.

  • Regulate the work of the digestive system The great amount of insoluble fiber in Quinoa helps lower the occurrence of gallstones and improves bile functioning. The fiber is an irreplaceable method for preventing constipation, and to bind toxins.
  • Help reduce appetite Due to the high content of protein and fiber, quinoa seeds help you eat less. Meals with the seeds ensure the feeling of satiety, thus causing a reduction in daily calorie intake. Therefore, quinoa seeds help you stick to a low-calorie diet and manage your weight.

    Cooking Instructions

Adordable and delicious ORGANIC quinoa! I have purchased many different brands of quinoa and to be honest there isn’t a great deal of difference between them. I did like this quinoa because it is organic and I could get a larger amount at a lower price than I could get at our local grocery store. I found the best way to cook it and get it real fluffy is in a crock pot. Quinoa is not only a super food but it is a seed, and it contains both carbs and proteins. Therefore, you should plan your low-carb diet meals carefully if you want to enrich them with this super food. Quinoa seeds, flour, and pasta are a great alternative for people who want to avoid gluten.
Tastes great! I have it every day for lunch. It takes longer to cook than white quinoa but tastes better.
Unexpected. I had been eating white Quinoa, so I tried this one because of the bulk price, after eating this one I was wondering what the crap I was eating was, I found this better tasting, but everyone has there own opinion on taste. The seeds are larger after cooking then the white quinoa I was eating and requires more liquid. I will be buying this one again and I will pass the word. Also, I didn't notice any sawdust or chafe, just some of the seeds were lighter in color.
Quinoa in any color is wonderful. This quinoa has a slightly nuttier flavor, very pleasant and versatile. It took a little longer to cook which confirms comments I read about the tricolored quinoa blends being difficult due to varied cooking times. The color is a nice addition. I'm so happy my hubby enjoys quinoa in place of rice--we made a great shrimp and quinoa dinner instead of shrimp and grits!

Good, pre-rinsed quinoa. My main issue with quinoa is the long washing process which sometimes acts as a deterrent from preparing this healthy food. This one really is pre-rinsed as there was no bitterness when I cooked it without washing it. However, it is worth paying attention to the optimal cooking time. This batch cooks a lot slower than the one I get from my local market. With this one, I put in one part quinoa with two parts water, bring it to a boil, then close the lid, bring it to the lowest setting and let it simmer for at least 30-35 minutes. Then I keep the lid closed for about another 10 minutes after turning the heat off. You might want to experiment with your own cooking time. Overall, very good product.
